Mission statement

What we do:
SIG 18 is a global, multidisciplinary forum on educational effectiveness and improvement across all settings and methods.

Key topics:

  • Frameworks and theories of high-quality teaching and schooling

  • Measuring teaching quality from multiple perspectives

  • Linking effectiveness with improvement

  • Intervention-based improvement of teaching and schools

  • Measurement for complex educational processes

  • Evaluating schools and systems

  • School development over time

Activities:

  • Biennial SIG 18 conference + JURE pre-conference

  • Symposia at EARLI, AERA, ICSEI, ECER

  • Special issues, edited books and innovative discussion formats

Becoming a Member of EARLI SIG 18

If you would like to join EARLI SIG 18 (Educational Effectiveness), first become an EARLI member via the EARLI website. During registration, or later in your member profile, select SIG 18 as one of your Special Interest Groups (additional SIG fees may apply depending on your membership type). Once added, you will be included in SIG 18 communications, can participate in SIG events and conferences, and (if you are early-career) you can also join JURE to access extra mentoring and networking opportunities.
